EAST PALESTINE - Gary R. Ludwig, 65, of 785 West Grant Street, died at 3:29 p.m. Wednesday at Salem Community Hospital.
Mr. Ludwig was born Nov. 16, 1943 in East Liverpool, a son of Charles R. and Elywena B. Russell Ludwig and had lived in this area all of his life. He had served in the U. S. Army and was a member of the Centenary United Methodist Church of East Palestine. Gary also served as a volunteer firefighter for the East Palestine Fire Department for 25 years.
He had been employed as a car salesman for Jim Pace Pontiac of Niles. Prior to that he had worked with Brittain Motors, Midway Motors, and other car dealerships in the area.
He is survived by his wife, the former Linda Joy Jurjavcic, whom he married Feb. 12, 1966; two sons, Mark (Olga) Ludwig of Davie, Fla., and Brian Ludwig and his fiancee, Annie Castro of Charlotte, N.C.; his mother, Elywena Ludwig of New Waterford; a sister, Linda Rupert of Mineral, Va.; a brother, William Ludwig of East Palestine; two grandchildren and two step grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Centenary United Methodist Church, East Palestine with Rev. David Martin of the church officiating. Burial will follow in Glenview Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Van Dyke-Swaney-Rettig Funeral Home, East Palestine from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday and at the church one hour prior to the services on Saturday.
