KIPTON — Geneva Troxtell, age 75, of Kipton, died Thursday morning at New Life Hospice in Lorain.

She was born on May 22, 1933, in Pioneer, Tenn., and has lived in the area for 56 years. She was a member of the Crossroads Baptist Church in Oberlin.

She enjoyed quilting, listening to Bluegrass music and going to church.

She is survived by her two sons Carroll (Karen) Byrd, of Lorain, and Danny Byrd, of Oberlin, a brother Declois Day, of Oneida, Tenn., five grandchildren, one great-grandchild and four nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Gaston Byrd and her parents Norman and Flonnie (Hicks) Day.

Friends may call on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Morman Funeral Home, 16 Cooper Street, Wakeman, where services will be held on Monday at 2 p.m. Burial will follow at Camden Cemetery, near Kipton.
