Military services were held for Virgil B. Andrews, who died suddenly at his home Saturday, April 7, at the Ludwig Mortuary at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 11,1951. Rev. Harold E. Hall officiated.
Andrews was a section foreman for the Santa Fe Railroad, having worked on the railroad for 28 years. He was a member of the Morton Methodist Church and the Morton American Legion Post No 318. He moved to Morton from Rutland, 111., in 1943.
He was born in Mt. Erie, June 10, 1895 ,the son of Joseph H. and Malissa Best. He married Flossie Mayes at Mt. Erie Feb. 26, 1920.
Surviving are his wife and three sons; Fred, William and John and one daughter, Elma, all of Morton; three sisters; Ethel Andrews, Mt. Erie, Mrs. Sibyl Padgett, Clay City. One son preceded him in death.
Pall bearers were Carl Hartter, William Miller, Jack Voorhees, Jacob Oyer, John Mueller and Howard Ertmoed
