Joseph Brownmiller, aged 89 years, died at his home at Hamlin, this county, of general debility after a long illness. The surviving children are Mrs. John Kreiser, Lebanon; Mrs. Samuel Steiner, Myerstown; Mrs. Isaac Wolf, Crosskill Mills; Mrs. Jonathan Miller, Hamlin; Mrs. Elias Wolever, Brookston, Ind.; F. D. Brownmiller, Schuylkill Haven; and Rev. E. S. Brownmiller, of Reading.

Joseph Brownmiller, a much respected citizen of Bethel township, died on Sunday noon at the residence of his daughter, in Hamlin, at the advanced age of 89 years. The funeral will take place on Saturday morning. [The Evening Report, (Lebanon, Pennsylvania) 9 April 1895 page 1]
