Dustin Thompson

Our beloved Dustin Gary Thompson successfully completed his mission here on earth July 9, 1998 following a traffic accident. He will continue to serve his Heavenly Father well in his new mission because of his kind and loving heart.

Dustin was born July 15, 1974 to his parents, Gary Dee and Carolee Maynes Thompson. He adored his three sisters. Graduated from Taylorsville High School, served as an LDS missionary in the South Africa Durban Mission, and was attending Salt Lake Community College.

Dustin loved many people including his parents; his sisters and their families; Jessica, Wyatt and Kaylee Smith; Melinda and Brandon Richardson, and Stefany; grandparents, Glen and Norma Maynes and Lorene Thompson; his great-grandma, Vira Jacobson; many aunts, uncles and cousins; many friends, especially, Wayne, Joe and Stacey, Billy and Suseann, and Stacey; and all of the MidValley Ward.

Funeral services will be held Monday, 12 noon at the Bennion Stake Center, 5980 South 1300 West. Friends may call Sunday, 5-7 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road and Monday at the church, 11-11:45 a.m. Interment, Murray City Cemetery.

Dustin, we love you! Thanks for being a good boy!

Bennion man killed in collision at S.L. intersection

A Bennion man was killed Thursday morning when his Honda Accord was broadsided by a car that ran a red light at the intersection of 200 South and 1000 West, Salt Lake Police Lt. Jim Jensen said. Dustin Gary Thompson, 27, was pronounced dead at LDS Hospital shortly after the 7:15 a.m. accident. Thompson was traveling east on 200 South when he was struck by Morgan D. Johnson, 18.
