Matthew Aaron McCabe, 23, died Jan. 23, 2009 at Phoenix Indian Medical Center. He was born Dec. 23, 1985, in Lake Havasu City, Ariz., and lived in Parker.

Matthew was a resident of Parker all his life. His "Grams," Cynthia Knox, raised him and the late Terry Knox Sr. Matt had one younger sister, Toni Dawn. Matt loved spending time with his long time girlfriend, Regina Barley. He enjoyed time with all of his buddies. Growing up Matt was very close to his cousins; or brothers as he would say; Joey(JoJoB), Justin (Juggs), and Jerrod(J.D.) Aspa.

Matt also loved and enjoyed time with cousins Tatum, Raquel, Hosteen and Daniel and the rest of the clan. Matthew was very friendly, funny, loving, giving and good-hearted.
He enjoyed watching Family Guy, The 70's Show, and loved playing Chess. Matt was sometimes known as "The National Chess Player Champion" by many, because there were very few who could ever beat him. Me also had the biggest heart anyone has ever seen, so big that when he would meet someone for the first time, no matter who it was, they were always in his heart. He loved being around children and they loved him. Matthew had a major impact on our hearts and lives and we will never forget it.

He also enjoyed being around his very BIG family.

Matthew was preceded in death by his grandfather Terrance M. Knox Sr. and paternal grandfather David H. McCabe Jr.

Survivors include his maternal grandmother, Cynthia E. Knox; mother, Rena Nightpipe; father, David H. McCabe III; grandmother, Mary Alice McCabe; sister, Toni Dawn; longtime girlfriend, Regina Barley; aunts, Meredith Knox, Lesley Knox, April Knox, Mary Nopah, Linda McCabe, Carol McCabe, Cheryl McCabe, Janice McCabe; uncles, Terry Knox Jr., Orlando McCabe Sr., Gilbert McCabe; and numerous cousins.
