Mr. Ivan Forest Morris, 77, a resident of 212 Esther's Lookout in Shenandoah, died Friday, July 16,2004, at his residence.
A son of the late Vernon M and Laura Alice Jenkins Morris, he was born on April 19,1927, in Page County. He lived his entire life in the Shenandoah Community.
Mr. Morris served in the U.S. Navy and was a member of Shenandoah VFW No. 8613. He retired as engineer for Norfolk & Southern Railrood in 1985.
On February 21, 1950, he married Frances E Price, who preceded him in death on Aug 31, 1989.
Surviving are one son, Jeffrey Morris, a friend who was like a daughter-in-law, Theresa F Burton of Shenandoah; one granddaughter, Ashton Morris of Shenandoah, two brothers, Weldon Morris of Elkton and four sister, Frances Moore of Lafayette, Ind., Ruth Wright and Mary Ferrell, both of Shenandoah and Venda Denton of Ashland, Va.
He was preceded in death by two sone, Alan Morris and Timmy Morris.
His body will be cremated and a memorial service will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at Newport United Church of Christ with the Rev. Walter Lundblad officiating.
Kyger Funeral Home in Shenandoah is handling arrangements.
