MABEL NANNY CARPENTER, 91, went to her heavenly home on Sunday, Aug. 8, 2010, at Saint Anne Home, Fort Wayne. Born in Defiance, Ohio, she was a homemaker. She is survived by her daughter, Bonnie (Robert) Rose of Fort Wayne; sister, Gladys Shaw of Roanoke and Dee Kitchen of Fort Wayne; grandchildren, Paul N. (Jeanne) Hoffman III of New Haven, Janet (Tommy) Nierman of Bridgewater, N.J. and Jean (Rick) Sholl of Stuart, Fla.; six great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and step-grandchildren, David (Cindy) Rose, Tina (Tom) Hiser and Linda Cosaboom. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Carpenter; one brother; and four sisters. Service is 10 a.m. Wednesday at D.O. McComb & Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home, 1140 Lake Avenue, with calling one hour prior. The Rev. Russell Dewell officiating. Calling also from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
