OBITUARY :
HOTEN JOEL SHOCKEY, 63, of Route 2, Fayetteville, died at his home Wednesday. Death was attributed to a heart attack.

He was a retired state road employee, a veteran of World War I, and a member of LaFayette Post No. 149, American Legion, at Fayetteville.

Survivors include his wife, Pauline Shockey; two daughters, Mrs. Kathleen Noble of Coshocton, Ohio, and Mrs. Jerry McDaniel of Rockville, Md.; two brothers, Kenneth of Lansing and Eldridge Shockey of Oak Hill; a half brother, Charles Shockey of Fayetteville; three sisters, Mrs. Ocie Creger of Charleston, Mrs. Vida Comer of Dobson, N. C., and Mrs. Jeanette Dooley of Fayetteville and five grandchildren.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in the Dodd-Payne Funeral Home Chapel at Fayetteville with the Rev. Shirley Donnelly of Oak Hill in charge. Burial will be in Huse Memorial Park at Gatewood.

The body will remain at the funeral home.
