Clarence C. Butler. 83. of 175 Pine Grove Furnace Road, Aspers. died Tuesday. July 15. 2003. at home.

Born Feb. 7. 1920, in New Oxford, a son of the late William H. and Anna (Mummert) Butler, he was employed by the former Duffy Mott Inc. in Aspers for 29 years before retiring.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a life member of Bendersville Fire Co.

Mr. Butler is survived by his wife of 56 years, Jean W. (Warren) Butler: two sons. Larry E. of Aspers and David L. of Cheyenne, Wyo.; three sisters, Anna Gulden of Gettysburg. Loretta Sandoe and Leota Butler, both of Biglerville; three brothers. Marlin Butler of Florida. Richard Butler of Biglerville and Loring Butler of Aspers; two granddaughters; two great-granddaughters; and a step-great-granddaughter.

Funeral services will be Friday at 10 a.m. in Dugan Funeral Home. 222 S. Main St.. Bendersville, with the Rev. James R. Speelman officiating.

Burial will be in Wenksville Cemetery.

Friends may call Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. in the funeral home.
