William James "Bill" Riggins, 63, born 12 Mar 1913, of Hoboken, died Friday, 20 Jul 1976, at Memorial Hospital in Waycross after an extended illness.

Born and reared in Ware County, he was the son of the late Joseph Reppard Riggins and Mary "Mollie" Strickland Riggins. He lived for a number of years in Appling and Pierce counties before moving to Brantley County fourteen years ago.

He served during World War II in the U.S. Army and was a member of Mt. Vernon Missionary Baptist Church, and a member of Disabled American Veterans. He was parts and service manager of Vining Brothers Motors before retiring several years ago.

Survivors are his wife, Clotiede "Teel" Burkett Riggins of Hoboken; two sons, William James Riggins Jr. and Thomas Edward Riggins, both of Hoboken; two daughters, Cheryl King of Waresboro, and Susan Tallevast of Hoboken; four brothers, Franklin and Joseph Ivey Riggins, both of Hoboken, Harry Riggins of Jamestown and Henry Riggins of Tampa, FL; five grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Funeral services were held at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Richard Johnson and Rev. James Furguson officiating. Burial was in High Bluff Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Randall Gunter, Franklin Thomas, Clinton Herrin, Ronald Thomas, Jimmy Grupposo and Rev. F. L. Herrin.

Miles-Odum Funeral Home of Waycross was in charge of arrangements.
