Sheffield Township — Cyril M. McCroskey, age 87, of Sheffield-Monroe Road, went home to be with her Lord and her husband Jack, Wednesday, December 26, 2007 at the Ashtabula County Medical Center.

She was born July 26, 1920 in Kanawha County, West Virginia to the late Frank Edward and Icy May (Gandee) Coffee.

Cyril was an active member of the Kelloggsville Church of the Nazarene where she taught the nursery and toddler classes. She was a member of the Nazarene Missionary Society.

Mrs. McCroskey was a talented seamstress and quilter, and she enjoyed babysitting. Cyril babysat so many children over the years it has been said that when she got to heaven she would baby-sit children there.

She is survived by her daughters; Gloria (Elvin) Harrison of Kingsville, Donna (Ken) Furmage of E. Springfield, Pa., and Deborah Nadolny of Sheffield Twp.; son, Chuck (Connie) McCroskey of Kingsville; sister-in-law, Louise Coffee; 15 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Cyril was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband of 63 years, Jack, whom passed away Oct. 13, 2007; brothers, D. Edward Coffee, and Doy Coffee; three infant children; and one great-grandchild.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, December 29, 2007 at 11 a.m. at the Thompson-Smith Funeral Home, 345 Main St., Conneaut with the Rev. Lester Bolen of the Kelloggsville Church of the Nazarene officiating. Burial will follow at Gageville Cemetery.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, December 28, 2007 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made in her name to the family. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
