She attended the public schools in Whitewater, Wisconsin, and after graduating from Whitewater High School in 1942 she wanted to join the United States military, but at that time the age of adulthood was 21 and so she would need her parent's signature to join before age 21. Her mother and she came to an agreement, if Bonnie went two years of college she could then join the military. Bonnie attended two years at University of Wisconsin Whitewater majoring in Primary Education. In 1944 she went into the United States Army, which she was in until 1952. While in the Army she met her future husband and got married before she was discharged. After she was discharged she went to work as a reporter for The Janesville Gazette newspaper and covered Walworth county board meeting, Whitewater school board meetings and Whitewater city council meetings. This she did until 1971. At the same time she worked at the University of Wisconsin Whitewater as a secretary. She retired in 1989. In her spare time she was an avid baseball fan, and loved to read. In politics she was a Republican with a capital "R." She was a member of the United Church of Christ in Whitewater, the American Legion, and Circus Fans of America.

Bonnie Jean Moody, age 73, Whitewater, died early Sunday morning, March 29, 1998, at Countryside Home, Jefferson. She was born July 5, 1925 in Argos, Ind., the daughter of Frank and Zella (Wintermuete) Hall. She was a member of the Congregational Church UCC of Whitewater, retired from UW-Whitewater, a former Janesville Gazette reporter, a WW II W.A.C veteran and spent her first twelve years with the Hall Brothers Circus. She is survived by two sons: Lewis (Jenny) Moody of Fort Atkinson and Bradley Moody of Madison; and two grandchildren, Corey and Cody. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister Lenora. Memorial services were held Wednesday, April 1, at 1:30 p.m. at the Congregational Church UCC, Whitewater. Skindingsrude Funeral Home, Whitewater, assisted the family.

NOTE: There are a few mistakes in the above. Bonnie was born July 5, 1924; her mother's maiden name is spelled wrong and should be spelled Wintermute; and Lewis' name should be spelled Louis.
