Friends of Hansford D. Rhoden will regret to hear on his death at the home of his stepson, C.E. Price on Vernon Road early yesterday morning after a brief illness. Mr. Rhoden was a native of Lowndes County, Georgia having moved to Jacksonville about 2 months ago. He had been a resident of Macclenny, Florida for a number of years and was a member of the Primitive Baptist Church. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Katie Rhoden, Jacksonville, two daughters, Mrs. A.D. Powers (Lousettie) and Mrs. Mattie Green, both of Macclenny; two sons, H.D. Rhoden and J.F. Rhoden, Macclenny, and his stepson here in Jacksonville. Funeral services will be held at the Primitive Baptist Church at Rosselle and Willow Branch Avenue (Zion Rest) at 4 o'clock this afternoon. Pallbearers will be G.C. Rice, C.L. Rice S.E.L. Dukes, E.C. Herring, J.M. Patrick and J.N. Smith. Interment will be made in the family lot in Edgewood Cemetery under the direction of Burns-Howard.
