Noted Suffrage Leader Is Dead
GLENDALE, Cal., Nov. 20. (JP)
Funeral services for Mrs. Alma V. Lafferty, suffrage leader, who died Saturday night at the home of her daughter, Mrs. L. P. Abell, will be held here today, and the body will then be shipped to Denver for interment in the family plot at Fairmount cemetery.
Mrs. Lafferty, who was 78 years of age, was one of the active figures in the battle for woman suffrage, lecturing from the Chatauqua platform. She served two terms in the Colorado legislature, where she secured the passage of the eight-hour law for women and other legislation beneficial to women and children.
