LASCURETTES

August 23, 1921 – June 21, 1998

George A. Lascurettes, native of Oakland, WWII veteran and retired owner of Superior French Laundry and Dry Cleaners, died peacefully at home on Sunday, June 21. He was 76.
Loving husband of Eleanor (Pat) Lascurettes for 49 years. Devoted father to four daughters, Diane and Tom Branagh, Suzanne Lascurettes, Nancy and Tom Engberg, Denise and Vince Mangiapane. Proud grandfather of Nicole, John and Denise Branagh; Marc, Renee and Kate-Marie Engberg, Member of Ligue Henri IV and Lafayette Club of Alameda County.
Memorial services will be held, Saturday, June 27 at 11:00 a.m. at Chapel of the Chimes, 4499 Piedmont Avenue, Oakland.
In lieu of flowers please send memorial gifts to Hanna Boys Center of Sonoma or Peniel Mission of Oakland.

Lt. George A. Lascurettes, with pilot 1st/Lt. Wayne V. Friberg and crew flew B24 BARREL HOUSE BESSIE in "Operation Tidal Wave" the low level raid on Ploesti oil refinery. Coming in at tree top level the "Liberandos" destroy Romanian Oil refineries. Lt. Lascurettes was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross for valor on this mission.
