Clarence C. Schwersenska, age 99, formerly of rural Hancock, passed away Monday morning, Dec. 8, 2008, at Fountain View Care Center, Ripon.
He was born May 16, 1909 in the Town of Dakota, the son of Emil and Louise (Prepke) Schwersenska. He married Viola E. Berry on April 14, 1934
in Wautoma. She preceded him in death on Sept. 16, 1998.
Clarence and his late wife farmed in the Town of Deerfield for many years. He was also was a building mover and fixed lawn mowers. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Wautoma. Clarence enjoyed playing cards and being with his family, especially his grandchildren.
He is survived by his children, Kenneth (Ardell) Schwersenska, Hancock Louise (Kenneth) Hillmer, Montello, Gordy (Deb) Schwersenska,
Montello and John (Sharon) Schwersenska, Oshkosh; grandchildren, Barbara (David Groskruetz) Siebert, Lyle Schwersenska, Laurie (Kenneth) Schmidt, LeRoy (Kathy) Hillmer, Keith Hillmer, Mark (Michele) Hillmer, Shannon (Tracy) Schwersenska, Kari (Bob)Schuchardt, Jeremiah (Wendy) Schwersenska, Matthew Schwersenska, Nathan Schwersenska; great-grandchildren, Grant, Nicole, Jason, Michael, April, Kyle, Cassandra, Brandon, Lauren, Lucas, Violet, Dylan, Dane, Kendra, Trevor and one more great-grandchild on the way. He is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter-in-law, Sally Schwersenska, his brothers, George (Jessie), Albert (Margaret), Art (Esther) and Leonard (Evelyn) Schwersenska, his sisters, Ida (Frank) Schultz, Ella (Frank) Pfaltz, Lena (Fred) Raatz, Elsie (Walter) Frank, Esther (Walter) Slife and Edna (Joe) Pidek. He is further preceded in death by his half brothers, Paul, Ed and Bill Stelter and his step-brothers and sisters, Burt, Dan, John, Caroline and Ellie Liske.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, Dec. 12, 2008 at 12:00 NOON in
Grace United Methodist Church in Wautoma with the Rev. George J. Kafer officiating. Burial will be in Woodville Cemetery, Town of Deerfield.
Visitation will be held at the Church on Friday from 10:00am until the time of services.
