E. J. Cleveland. Rites Conducted

Final rites for E. J. Cleveland, 77, long-time resident of Buda and former state representative, were held Monday afternoon at the First Baptist Church in Buda.

The Rev. W. C. Raines and the Rev. John E. Early officiated at the services. Burial was in Kyle Cemetery under the direction of Weed-Corley Funeral Home.

Cleveland, who died at the family residence in Buda Sunday, was well known as a merchant and cotton buyer. During the 45th and 46th Legislatures, he served as a representatives from Hays and Caldwell Counties. He was a member of the Baptist Church.

Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Lula Cleveland of Buda; two daughters, Mrs. Jewel Lindemann of Buda and Mrs. B. L. Jameson, Dallas; three sons, E. J. Cleveland Jr., Midland; E. D. Cleveland, Palestine; and G. T. Cleveland, Cedar Rapids, Iowa; one sister, Mrs. E. T. Adair, Bishop; and one brother, Dave Cleveland, Buda.
