Helen attended grammar school in Wyckoff and high school at Central High School in Paterson. She graduated magna cum laude from Paterson Normal School (now William Paterson University) and taught 1st and 4th grades for 10 years at the Ramsey Grammar School, from 1929 to 1939.
She had 3 wishes in her life. First was to be married to Tony for 50 years. They were, and in 1982, sixty people were guests for a surprise “wedding reception” since she and Tony never had one. Her second wish was to see her grand daughter married, and she did. Third, she always wanted to meet a president, and she met Richard Nixon when he was living in Saddle River.
