The funeral for Moscoe Underhill will be Saturday at 1 p.m. in the chapel of J.H. Churchill Funeral Home. Rev. Howard Jones and Rev. Shelby Underhill will officiate. Music will be by Teresa King, Janette Dewitt, Geraldine Baker and Keith Baker. Pallbearers will be Keith Baker, Gregg Baker Sr., Gregg Baker Jr., Jonathan Baker, Nicholas Newsome and Jody Dewitt. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in the Land Between the Lakes. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 4 to 9 p.m. today (Friday.
Mr. Underhill, 90, Green Valley Road, Dexter, died Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2009, at 11 a.m. at his home. A retired construction worker, he was a member of Faith Tabernacle Church.
Born July 20, 1918 in Trigg County (Land Between the Lakes), he was the son of the late Joseph D. and Lou Sadie Page Underhill. Also preceding him in death were one daughter, Rachael Lavern Underhill; three sons, Movon Ray, Roy Milton and Morris Wayne Underhill; one sister, Cozy Synder; three half sisters, Doan Futrell, Rose Colson and Corie Brant; two brothers, Roscoe H. and Rev. Loyd Underhill; three half brothers, Taylor, Nick and Finis Underhill.
Survivors include his wife, Mary C. Underhill, to whom he was married March 22, 1946 in Trigg County; two daughters, Geraldine Baker and husband, Dwaine, and Melva Underhill, all of Dexter; three sisters, Pearl Ellis, Bardstown, Mamie Underhill, Dexter, and Ora Lee Walker, Calvert City; five grandchildren, Keith Baker and wife, Karen, Jonathan Hal Baker and Janette Dewitt and husband, Jody, all of Murray, and Gregg Baker and Denise Newsome and husband, Nick, all of Dexter; four great-grandchildren, Gregg Baker Jr., Ryan Matthew Dewitt, Nicholas Newsome and Aimee Denise Newsome; two stepgreat-grandchildren , Brittany and Katelyn Corbin.
