Steinthal Farmer Succumbs on Monday; Rites Wednesday
Funeral services for Fred Vogel, 62, who passed away at his home in
Steinthal, in the town of Eaton, Manitowoc county, at 3 a.m. Monday,
after a four weeks' illness, were held at 1:30 p.m. this Wednesday
from the Meiselwitz Funeral Home and at 2 o'clock from the St. Peter
Evangelical and Reformed church, with the Rev. E. L. Worthman
officiating. Burial was made in the Rockville cemetery.
Mr. Vogel was born on the farm homestead near Rockville September 20,
1873. On October 5, 1893, he was united in marriage with Miss Helena
Dedering of the town of Schleswig. The couple moved to this city,
where they lived for approximately six months. They moved to various
places and in 1916 moved to Steinthal, where they have been living
for the past twenty years.
He is survived by his wife; three sons, Alvin at home, Walter of St.
Nazianz, and Arno of the town of Schleswig; one daughter, Mrs. Alvin
Rabe of Steinthal, and a brother, Herman, living on the homestead farm.
There are sixteen grandchildren. - May 21, 1936
