Funeral services for Forest Shelton Fairley, 85, of Leaf were held July 16 at Pipkins Cemetery in Leaf.

He was a native and lifelong resident of Leaf. He was a retired shipfitter at Alabama Dry Dock. He died July 13, 1997 in Biloxi following an extended illness.

Survivors include his wife, Lottie Louise Fairley of Leaf and 10 children, Katie Lou Fairley of Slidell, LA.; Nelda Bradley of D'Iberville, Owen Fairley and Bernice Gibson of Leaf; Fritz Fairley of Bexley, F.S. 'Junior' Fairley and Jimmy Earl Harvison of McLain; Juston Fairley and Judy Van Vleck of Lucedale and Richard Dan Fairley of Mobile, AL.
Also surviving are 22 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren; and four sisters, Nancy Goff and Hattie Mae Edwards, both of Leaf; Ethelene Havard of Rocky Creek and Thelma Byrd of Lucedale.

Mr. Fairley was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and one sister.
Services were conducted by Rev. Larry Havard and Rev. Wayne McMahan. Interment was in the Pipkins Cemetery with Sigler Funeral Home in charge of arrangements
