Timothy Joe Wood, 941 Granite Court, died on Sunday October 8, 1989 in Longmont. He was 41.

He was born on September 26, 1948 to Noel Joe Wood and Aleta Bernice White Wood in Salida., Chaffee County. He moved from Salida to Fairplay and then to Lyons, where he was a 1967 graduate of Lyons High School. He served in the U.S. Navy and was on active duty 1967 to 1971. Then from 1971 to 1973 he was a member of the U.S. Navy Reserve. Following his military service he returned to the Lyons/Longmont area. On April 26 1989 he married to Karen K. (Tusha) Nicklasson in Clark County, Las Vegas, Nevada, Book #502, page 122044. He had worked at Springers, the Plaza Hotel and the Huddle, and was the manager at Captain Jack's at the time of his death.


His first marriage was to Linda Susan Heaps. With her he had his only child. Mr. Wood was of the Methodist faith and was a member of the American Legion and the Longmont Moose Lodge No. 1548. He was preceded in death by his parents. Mr. Wood was survived by his wife of Longmont; two stepsons, both of Longmont; a daughter, of Longmont; a stepdaughter, of Greely; a brother, of California; a sister of California; his mother-in-law, of South Dakota; and numerous aunts and uncles. Memorial services will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, October 14, at the first United Methodist Church with Dr. Donald Groeters, former minister of the church officiating. Cremation will precede the services and interment of cremains will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday Oct 16 at the Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver. Military honors will then be rendered. Memorial contributions may be made to the Tim Wood Memorial fund at either First National Bank of Longmont or at the Lyons Valley Bank of Lyons. The Ahlberg Funeral Chapel is handling the arrangements .
