God used Judy's triumphant suffering to touch thousands of lives, and her inspiring testimony, "Living Joyfully with Cancer," may be viewed at www.sermonaudio.com/sermoninfo.asp?SID=53005223619.
Judy was a virtuous woman: a loving wife, nurturing mother, gracious lady, faithful friend, master teacher, and exemplary pastor's wife. Judy's family, church, and friends loved her passionately. She epitomized Dante's description of noble womanhood as "she who doth imparadise my soul."
Funeral services will be at the First Baptist Church of Parker on Valentine's Day, February 14, at 10 a.m., Edward Cook and Hal Brunson officiating, viewing of the body will begin at 9:15 a.m., followed by a graveside service at 4:30 p.m. in Still Waters Memorial Garden, Jacksonville, under the direction of Autry Funeral Home, Jacksonville with Dr. Charley Holmes officiating.
Our family conveys heartfelt gratitude to the many who have prayed for us during this long journey of sickness, with special thanks to Logos Academy of Dallas; Covenant Christian Academy, Colleyville; the Providence Christian School of Texas, Dallas; and Trinity Christian Academy, Addison, especially Mr. Rod Morris, for their generosity, compassion, and understanding during Judy's sickness. Words cannot describe how wonderfully our church family, the First Baptist Church of Parker, have been the hands and heart of Christ to us.
Our family also thanks the physicians, nurses, and staff of Presbyterian Hospital, Dallas; M. D. Anderson Hospital, Houston; and Baylor Regional Medical Center, Plano, for their tender and professional care, with special thanks to Dr. Gabriel Shapiro.
After her father's death when Judy was three years old, her dear mother Mollie remained unmarried and, with meager means, reared Judy and her siblings "in the nurture and admonition of the Lord." In that spirit, "The Judy Brunson Memorial Scholarship" has been established at Trinity Christian Academy, Addison, to assist single Christian mothers who could not otherwise afford to send their children to a private Christian school. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial gifts be presented to:
