ABBEY FUNERAL SERVICES HELD
Rev. Skottowe Officiates At Ceremony
Funeral services for Mrs. Gertrude Abbey were held yesterday at 5 p. m at the residence of her son-in-law, O. H. L. Wernicke, where she died ysterday morning.
Rev. J. C. Skottowe was in charge. Burial was in Gull Point cemetery. Pallbearers were Ed C. King, Emmet Wilson, Milton Huyck, Lymon M. Beggs, Leslie Smith and E. J Raub. T. M. Lloyd Co. was in charge of burial.
Mrs.. Abbey was born in Tompkins county, New York, in 1840. She married Capt. Winslow Abbey in 1866. The couple first moved to Iowa but later located in Mitchell. S. D., where Captain Abbey was elected probate Judge and served until his death in 1914.
Mrs. Abbey was the mother of two children, Loula, wife of Mr. Wernicke died at Gull Point in 1928. Winslow Abbey, Jr, resides in San Francisco where he is associated with the San Francisco News.
Mrs. Abbey lived with her son-in-law ever since the death of her husband. She was an active member of the Eastern Star.
