Gregory Gibbs, 58, of Old Collins Creek Rd., McClellanville, SC, departed this life February 8, 2009, at his residence.

Mr. Gibbs, a son of the late Paul Gibbs, Sr., and Magdalene Weathers Gibbs, was born October 15, 1950, in Charleston, SC. He received his education in Charleston County and upon graduating, he enlisted in the US Army. Mr. Gibbs was a member of Greater Mt. Zion A.M.E. Church.

Surviving are one son, Reddick Whitis of Charlotte, SC; three brothers, Paul Gibbs, Jr., of McClellanville, SC, James Gibbs of Georgetown, SC, and Franklin Gibbs of Musol, Iraq; six sisters, Paulene Gillyard, Brenda Gibbs, Audrey Gibbs, Alecia Gibbs, Phillis Whitis of McClellanville, SC, Lillie Mae Coaxum of Awendaw, SC and many other relatives and friends.
