Mr. Malcom W. McSwain was born to James and Caroline McSwain on October 24, 1844 in Perry County, Mississippi. The brother of Mary, Christian, Alexander, Sarah, Margaret and Sebadore McSwain. He married Miss Zylphia Emeline Breland in Greene County Mississippi. To this union three children were born, a son Lucious Albey McSwain, and two daughters, Louisa Isabella and Kathyrn Jane McSwain. After being widowed, he married Priscilla (Cochran) Roberts in 1881. He served the Confederacy during the Civil War; a private in the 3rd Battalion, Mississippi Infantry. He passed a way April 29, 1930 in Greene County, Mississippi. Burial took place at Buffalo Cemetery.
