Brenda is survived by her loving husband and sweetheart of 46 years, Roy L. Goodson. She is also survived by the light of her life, her two daughters and their husbands, Tamara and John Meredith of Lafayette, Colo., and Leigh and Zach Klotz of Frisco, Texas; one precious granddaughter, Taylor Meredith of Denton, Texas; and a much anticipated grandson, Brody Gavin Klotz. Her immediate family includes sisters, Yvonne Willeford and husband, Bob, of Jefferson, Texas, and Sue Lassetter of Woodlands, Texas; sister-in-law, Lucille Fowler; and special niece, Billie Jordan and her husband, Mike; along with much loved great-nieces, Whitney and Welby Jordan.
Brenda was a loyal and trusted employee of Austin Bank for the last 32 years. She was a longtime member of Mobberly Baptist Church. For many years, she was a dedicated volunteer with the Because I Care Foundation. Brenda participated in countless fundraisers and marrow donor drives. Because I Care is a foundation that works tirelessly to tissue type potential marrow donors and add them to the Marrow Donor Program. The program in turn helps people around the world find marrow matches.
The family wishes to express their appreciation and thanks to each of you who have showered us with your love and support during this journey. A special thanks to MargaretÂ's House and the nurses who so lovingly cared for her and us.
It has been a blessing for all of us to know how many lives have been touched and affected by her life, love and compassion for others. Even in her passing, she continues to inspire us to live better by being compassionate, forever welcoming, loving and serving others.
Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, February 10, 2009, at Mobberly Baptist Church, with the Rev. Billy Foote and the Rev. Roddie Bland officiating. Burial will follow in New White Oak Cemetery under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview.
