LISBON - John Paul "Huck" Altomare, 82, of Thomas Road, passed away at 12:45 a.m., Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2009, at the Hospice House, following a recent illness.

Altomare was born Sept. 1, 1926, in Lee-tonia, a son of the late Anthony and Lucia (Cicarro) Altomare.

He was a welder at NRM until his retirement in 1989. Mr. Altomare was a member of St. George Catholic Church. He also served during WWII as a member of the U.S. Navy.

Survivors include his wife, Mary M. (Benner) Altomare; daughter Linda Farmer of Bolingbrook, Ill.; son Alan Altomare of Newport News, Va.; sisters Helen Vokovich of Fort Myers, Fla., Dorothy Roller of Leetonia, Mary Juliano of Canfield, and Lena Coppock of Scottsdale, Ariz.; and five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

A Funeral Mass is 11 a.m. Saturday at St. George Catholic Church with Rev. Robert Edwards officiating. Burial will follow in Lisbon Cemetery with full military honors accorded by the Salineville American Legion Post 442.Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Friday at Eells-Leggett-Stauffer Funeral Home, where a prayer service will be conducted at 8 p.m.
