Charles Millsaps, Jr., went to his heavenly home on February 10, 2009. He was born to Charles and Bertie Millsaps on January 24, 1936. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Millsaps, Sr.; two sons, Carl Edward Millsaps and Charles Perry Millsaps; a daughter, Sandra Marie Harness; a brother, Willie Edward Millsaps, and a sister, Melba Millsaps.

He is survived by his faithful wife, Mary Millsaps; a loving mother, Bertie Millsaps; sons, Tim and Malinda Millsaps; Allen, Jody, Steven and Kenneth Wright; daughters, Marilyn and Danny Roosa; Debora and Dwayne Shadell; Sandra Chapman; Jo and Darrell Hagood; Stacy and Terry Fry; brothers, Tommie and Linda Millsaps; Willie and Nancy Millsaps; Jerry and Ruth Ann Millsaps; a sister, Frances and Boyd Sanders; a large number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren; and a host of friends and neighbors.

Charles was a loyal member of the United States Army; Eastern Star; Grotto; Scottish Rite; York Rite; Masons, Shriners and he was also appointed to aid to the Potentae; President of the Mt. Vernon Fire Board. He took pride and honor in being a long-time, active member of the Mt. Vernon Baptist Church.

Visitation will be Thursday, February 12, 2009, at the funeral home, from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Funeral service with Shriner rites, will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church with Bro. Jake McCandless officiating. Burial will follow in Romance Cemetery, with William Greenup, Jimmy Hawkins, Robert Roberson, Billy Loyd, Paul Brewer and Audy Swaim serving as pallbearers, under the direction of Roller-McNutt Funeral Home of Conway. 501-327-7727.
