Peggy was born on September 27, 1929 to the late Thomas Lenehan and Selma Sharp. She was married to the late Eugene Claunch and the late Eugene Dugger.
Peggy was a registered nurse for 35 years and served on the Somerset City Council from January 1982 to December 2004. She also served on various committees: ambulance, finance, personnel, police, fire and the utility committee. She was the highest vote getter and served in the absence of the mayor. Peggy was also the former house supervisor of Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital and was the head of the pediatrics department. She was also employed at Somerset City Hospital for many years.
Peggy was survived by one step-son, David E. Dugger (Alois) of Lexington, Kentucky, and a step-daughter, Donna Dugger of Somerset, Kentucky; step-grandchild, Joella "Jody" Dugger of Whitley City, Kentucky; and a nephew, Thomas "Eddie" Jones.
Proceeding Peggy in death were her parents, husbands, a daughter that died in infancy, and a sister, Sara Titeene "Snookie" Jones.
Visitation for Peggy were held on Friday, February 13, 2009 from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the chapel of Somerset Undertaking Co.
The funeral followed at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, February 13, 2009 at the chapel of Somerset Undertaking & Crematory with Bro. Sammie Adkins and Bro. C.E. Jacobs officiating.
Burial followed in the Lakeside Memorial Gardens in Somerset, Kentucky.
