COLLIN ALDRICH was born in Mendon, Massachusetts, May 2, 1801. In 1829 Mr. Aldrich was married to Mrs. Elizabeth (Lawrence) Crownover. They traveled to Texas before May, 1835, and settled in what is now Houston County. He fought bravely at the Battle of San Jacinto and was issued Donation Certificate No. 743 for 640 acres of land for his participation. He also received one labor of land by the Board of Land Commissioners for Houston County.
Mrs. Aldrich died in Houston County in 1875, and was buried in Crockett, Tx. Mr. Aldrich died years later, probably about 1850, and was buried on his property south west of Crockett.
