Mrs. Lola Spalding Dies at La Crosse

Mrs. Frank Spalding of Dakota, Minn., the former Lola Clark, who was born in Beach, succumbed at the St. Francis Hospital in La Crosse, Wisc., on Monday February 13, 1961, after a long illness from cancer. She had been bedridden since May of 1960. Mrs. Clark is a sister of C. C. (Slim) Clark of Beach.

Last rites were solemnized for her on Thursday, Feb. 16, at 2:00 p.m., at the Breitlow Chapel in Winona, Minn., and interment followed in the Woodlawn Cemetery there.

Survivors include her husband, 2 sons, Earl and Cecil, both at home, 1 daughter, Florence at home, several nieces and nephews, 3 brothers, Clifford of Beach, Harry of Billings, Mont., and Warren at Vancouver, Wn.

The former Lola Clark was born in Beach, N.D., on Oct. 2, 1913, the daughter of the late Henry and Etta Clark. She was married to Frank Spalding on Nov. 30, 1937, and was a member of the EUB church. She and her family resided at Dakota, Minn., near La Crescent, Minn. She received her education in Beach elementary school and high school.

C.C. Clark of Beach attended the funeral services, but his wife was unable to go as she was ill at home with her arm in a cast.
