Thomas H. Bagwell, 70, of the 6600 block of E. Virginia Beach Blvd., died Feb. 14, 1996, in a Norfolk hospital.
Mr. Bagwell, a native of Newberry, S.C., was retired from the U.S. Navy after 30 years of service. He was a Baptist and Navy veteran of World War II. He was a member of VFW and Moose Lodge (NU)39.
Survivors include his wife, Edna Bagwell; a daughter, Barbara B. Taylor of Virginia Beach; two stepdaughters, Linda Batdorf of Afton, Va., and Cindy Wright of Sierra Vista, Ariz.; a son, Thomas H. Bagwell Jr. of Lorton, Va.; four stepsons, Robert Simonton of Quincy, Mass., David Simonton of Montgomery, Ala., John Simonton of Quincy and Richard Simonton of Virginia Beach; stepmother, Lucille Bagwell of Lincolnton, Ga.; a stepsister, Betty Veal of Dublin, Ga.; five grandchildren; 22 step-grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and five step-great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday by the Rev. David Rhodenhizer in Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery with full military honors. The family will receive friends in the funeral home from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today. Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
