Homer, LA - Funeral Services for Mr. Robert L. Brakefield, Jr. 72, will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, January 31, 1999 at First United Methodist Church of Homer. Officiating will be the Rev. David Dietzel. Burial will be at Arlington Cemetery in Homer, LA. Visitation will be from 5-8pm Saturday, January 30, 1999. Mr Brakefield, Jr. died Thursday, January 28, 1999 in Homer, LA. He retired from NL Industries after 30 years. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Homer, Men's Bible Class, Sons of Confederate Veterans, Homer Masonic Lodge F&AM #152, Shriners, Homer Lions Club, a US Navy WWII Veteran, Graduate of Homer High School, attended LSU and LA Tech. Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Mac Brakefield; two daughters, Linda Brakefield Hollywood and Mary Elizabeth Brakefield; three sons and daughter-in-law, Ted Louis Brakefield, Jonmarc Brakefield, and Robert Gilbert and Linda Brakefield; and seven grandchildren.
