Margaret Josephine Karriker Cook, 80, of 9261 Mooresville Road, Concord, died Feb. 9, 2009, at CMC-NorthEast.

She was born Dec. 31, 1928, in Iredell County, the daughter of the late Samuel Jerome Karriker and the late Connie Shuemaker Karriker.

She retired from Cannon Mills Plant 1 No. 7 Weave Room. She loved going to the beach and loved riding horses.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Whitley's Funeral Home Annex Chapel. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Whitley's Annex Chapel.

She is survived by her husband, Hoyle Edward Cook; her two sons, Tony Mark Thompson and Roger Hoyle Cook, both of Concord; her daughter, Renee Thompson Shoaf of Gold Hill; three sisters, Nancy Barrett of Gastonia, Pat Hess of China Grove and Linda Clary of Mount Ulla; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
