Hayes Alexander Morgan, 76, Salisbury, died Friday (June 22, 2001).

Born March 17, 1925, in Rowan County, Mr. Morgan was the son of the late Charlie and Fannie Stiller Morgan. Educated in the Rowan County schools, he had retired from the machine shop at Cannon Mills, Plant 1. He was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, where he served on the church council and was a life member of the Lutheran Brotherhood.

Survivors include wife Blanche Trexler Morgan, whom he married Aug. 28, 1948; sons Hayes A. Morgan, Salisbury and Rick Morgan, Raleigh; daughter Susan Cruse, Salisbury; brother Guy E. Morgan, Salisbury; and 11 grandchildren.

Services: 3 p.m. Sunday, St. Peter's Lutheran Church, conducted by the Rev. Doug Hefner, pastor, and the Rev. C.P. Fisher. Burial, church cemetery.

Visitation: 4 to 5:30 p.m. today, Powles Funeral Home, Rockwell.

Memorials: St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Memorial Fund, 2570 St. Peter's Church Road, Salisbury, NC 28146.
