This is NOT Mariah (Mary/Maria) Margaret Hausihl (anglicized to Houseal) that was the daughter of Wilhelm Frederick Hausihl (1730-1807) and Anna Margaretta Geiselhardt (1751-1810). Maria married John Henry Summer, Jr in 1803 and together with their children John Adam (1805-1879), Mary Anne (1807-1904), Sarah Mary Jane (1812-1885) and Simon (b. 1813) left South Carolina in 1814, first to Indiana where their son Andrew Jackson (1815-1886) was born, then to Tennessee where their sons Jesse (1818-1898), Thomas (1822-1875), Nichodemus (also written as Nicholas Demons in some sources) (1826-1875) and Uriah Bonaparte (1830-1864) were born. By this time, on census and land registry documents the surname had an "s" added at the end and this branch became the Summers. John Henry Summers, Jr died in Morgan County, Tennessee, in 1840. After his death and before the Civil War, Mary/Maria/Mariah moved with her sons to Shannon County, Missouri, where they established the town known still as Summersville. Mary/Maria/Mariah Margaret Houseal Summers died in Summersville, Shannon County, Missouri on 24 Dec 1878 and is buried there in Welch Cemetery.

Mariah Margaret Houseal Summers and John Henry Summer(s), Jr are my 5th great grandparents, and have been researched extensively by several members of my family. The John Adam Summer attached to this profile is the wrong John Summer (there were many, as they were named after John Henry's grandfather, Johannas Adam "John" Summer who was the first in this Summer family to arrive in the colonies and eventually settle in South Carolina, and were all named after him). This profile - 63059438 - is the correct profile information for the daughter of Wilhelm Hausihl/Houseal and Anna Margaretta Geiselhardt

(Note: the above accounts disputes the claim below)

She was the daughter of Friedrich Wilhelm Hausihl and Anna Maria Geiselhart. Her baptismal certificate still exists and was published in 2013 in an article written by Courtney Magill for the Journal of Backcountry Studies titled "The Taufschein of Mary Margaret Houseal: A Glimpse Into German-American Life in the Dutch Fork, South Carolina" on page 41. Her parents were both born in Germany.
