Adeline Messer Hawkins, 98, of 1293 Upper Crabtree Road, died Monday, Dec. 9, 1996, at Haywood Regional Medical Center.
A native of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Robert Lee and Dora Welch Messer. She was the wife of the late Robert M. Hawkins, Sr.
She is survived by a son, Robert M. Hawkins, Jr. of Clyde; two grandsons, R. Wayne Hawkins of Clyde; Ronald H. Hawkins of Parrottsville, TN; four great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
Services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Rev. Jim Wilcox officiating. Burial was in Dawn Memory Gardens in the Crabtree Community.
The family received friends from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
