Lon Appleby Dies of Lingering Illness End At Evanston Last Week

Funeral and Interment Here Wednesday-Had Lived for Years on Appleby Ranch Near Lander

The remains of Lon Appleby were brought home Tuesday from Evanston, where he died after a lingering illness. Interment was in the Lander cemetery Wednesday. The funeral services were conducted from the Methodist church and were attended by quite a number of friends of the family from Lander and Vicinity.

Prominent Farmer
Mr. Appleby was 37 years of age and leaves a sorrowing mother, two brothers and four sisters. He was born in Utah, but moved here when quite young, and lived with his parents on the Appleby ranch at the mouth of the canyon on Squaw creek. He was farming the place last summer, when he was taken ill, and while the young man received all the medical aid possible he finally succumbed.

Resided Here Many Years
Mrs. Appleby, his mother, and Mrs. Osborn, his sister, who have at Ogden, Utah, since he was taken ill, arrived here with the body, and are still in the city with friends. The family has resided here for many years and their many friends extend them sincere sympathy in their sad bereavement.

The pall bearers were close friends of the deceased, and were George O'Neal, Wm. Read, Jesse Mortimore, Oro Hornecker, Lyn Milhollin and Johnny Carr. Rev. Butler conducted the funeral from the Methodist church.
