James Nelson Arledge, 93, of 354 E. Ohio St. died at Berger Hospital Sunday about 11:30 a.m. He had been admitted as a patient earlier Sunday.

Mr. Arledge was born July 14, 1862, in Ross County, a son of John and Mary Seymour Arledge. His first wife, Anna Arbaugh Arledge died in 1937. Mr. Arledge is survived by his present wife, Matilda Detty Arledge.

Also surviving are the following:
Three sons, Harl of 446 Watt St., Roy of 480 E. Ohio, and William of 631 Clinton St.; two daughters, Mrs. Hazel Weaver of Circleville Route 4 and Mrs. Ellen Wetzel of Chillicothe; 43 grandchildren: 43 great-grandchildren; 17 great-great-grandchildren; nine stepchildren, and a brother, George of S. Clinton St.

The deceased was the oldest, charter member of the Church of Christ in Christian Union on E. Ohio St., where funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2:30 p. m. Officiating at the rites will be the Rev. Melvin Maxwell and the Rev. Richard Hubbell. Burial will be in Hitler Ludwig Cemetery. Friends may call at the Defenbaugh Funeral Home in Circleville until 1 p.m. Tuesday.
