Kermit Byron Quale was born July 15, 1918 in Adams, Minn., the son of Nels and Laura (Lewison) Quale.

He resided in Adams all his life except for three years when he lived with his aunt and uncle in LeRoy. He attended schools at Adams and LeRoy. His marriage to Catherine Brewer took place in 1950.

Mr. Quale was employed as a heavy equipment operator for Osmundson Bros. Contractors 40 years prior to retiring. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II and was a member of American Legion Post 146. He also was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Mr. Quale died at 6:01 p.m. July 9, 1989, at his home in Adams.

Surviving are his wife, Catherine; daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Paul Brandt, Hayward, Minn.; son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Carolyn Quale, Adam; three grandchildren, Ryan, Timothy, Katie Brandt, Hayward; sisters and brother-in-law, Lorraine and Kenneth Knutson, Lakefield, Minn.; Neva Hilker, Austin, Minn.; sister-in-law, Margaret Quale, Rose Creek; cousins with whom he was raised, Bob and Milo Lewison, Austin; aunts; uncles; nieces; nephews; cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, a brother.

Funeral services were held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment was in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
