Ray E. Leiby, 80, of Normandy Drive, Painesville, died Saturday at the Greenlawn Nursing Home, Concord Township, following a lengthy illness.
Born March 11, 1899 in Southington Township, Mr. Leiby worked as a guard at the Morton Salt Co. plant in Painesville Township until he retired in 1971. He was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church, Painesville.
He is survived by a son, Blaine, of Eugene, Ore,; a daughter, Mrs. Jack (Ruth) Ahlstrom of Mentor; three brothers, Laurel of Fruitland, Fla., Clair of Ocala, Fla. and Harold of Southington; and two grandchildren. His wife, Eva, died in April.
