Cora Gail Ross, 68, life-time resident of Carthage, Mo., passed away Thursday, Feb. 5, 2009, at her home after a short illness.
Mrs. Ross was born May 12, 1940, in Los Angeles, Calif., the daughter of Roy Alvin Dasinger and Gladys Ethel (Sleight) Dasinger.
She was an honor graduate of Carthage High School, Class of 1958, and a member of Grace Episcopal Church, Carthage. She married Larry Dale Ross on May 11, 1956, in Miami, Okla. He survives. Mrs. Ross's involvement in the community included serving as a teacher's aide for the Carthage R-9 School System, the altar guild for Grace Episcopal Church, president for Ross Elevator Supply, a member of the Dogwood Garden Club, serving as an adult leader for the Mount Moriah 4-H for 10 years, board member for Tri-County Cerebral Palsy, volunteer for the Family Literacy Council and a participant for the local Duplicate Bridge Club.
She is survived by her husband, Larry, of the home; one daughter, Shellie Ross, Carthage; two sons, Don Ross and wife, Deanna, Springfield, Mo., Bill Ross and wife, Veronica, Gilbert, Ariz.; seven grandchildren, Caleb Ross and fiancée, Stacey Nelson, Bailey Stiles, Eli Stiles, Lauren Ross, Dylan Ross, Bobby Wallace and Derick Wallace; two great-grandchildren, Olivia Wallace and MacKenzie Wilt.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 7, Grace Episcopal Church, Carthage, Mo. Rev. Steve Wilson will officiate. Inurnment will follow the memorial service in the Grace Church Columbarium.
Memorial gifts in memory of Cora Gail Ross are suggested to the Carthage Humane Society or Grace Episcopal Church, Carthage.
