P. E. Branch, 69, of Montgomery, brother of Mack L. Branch, Alva Branch, and Mrs. Lloyd Tugwell of Winnfield, died suddenly at his home in Montgomery Dec. 20. Funeral services were conducted Dec. 22 and burial was in the Mt. Zion Cemetery with Rev. Fogleman officiating. The Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Branch was born in Winn Parish March 6, 1876. He married Dec. 9, 1897 at Gaars Mill, Winn Parish. He was a member of the Baptist Church.

Surviving him are his wife, Mrs. Alice Branch, of Montgomery; four sons, Cargle Branch, Hubert Branch, both of Montgomery, Ray [sic Roy] Branch of Orange, Texas, and Lester Branch, serving overseas with the U.S. Army; six daughters, Mrs. R. E. Barnett, Mrs. J. H. Gulledge, Mrs. J. P. Bordelon, Mrs. H. D. Rhoden, Mrs. W. S. Rhodes, all of Montgomery, and Mrs. A. L. Lemoine of New Orleans; three brothers, Mack L. Branch and Alva Branch, both of Winnfield, and Wright Branch of Jonesboro; two sisters, Mrs. Docia Davis of Montgomery and Mrs. Lloyd Tugwell of Winnfield.

Pallbearers were W. D. Rhodes, Homer Rhoden, R. S. Barnett, Oscar Birdlong, Cecil Fortner, and Joe Smith.
