Mrs. Gilbert's Services Set
Funeral services for Mrs. Dorothy Alexander Gilbert, 61, daughter of early Dallas realtor Bonner Alexander, will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Sparkman's Funeral Home, 215 Ross. The Very Rev. Gerald Grattan Moore will officiate. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery.

Mrs. Gilbert died Friday of a heart ailment in a New York hotel. For the past six years she had lived part of the time in Dallas and part in New York.

Mrs. Gilbert had passed the orals for her Ph.D. and recently had traveled and studied in Italy and England gathering material for a book about Elizabeth Barrett Browning.

After graduating from Dallas High School, Mrs. Gilbert entered the first freshman class at Southern Methodist University where she graduate Phi Beta Kappa. She was a member of Chi Omega sorority.

Mrs. Gilbert earned her master's degree at Columbia University, and at the time of her death, was a member of the English faculty of Brooklyn College in New York City.

Surviving is a sister, Miss Ruth Alexander of Philadelphia, Pa.
