John came west by covered wagon in 1885.

Son of John Strother McNeal III and Anna Good McNeal.
Husband of Margaret Harmon from 1828-1839.
They were parents of Salina, Barbara Ann, Martha and John Strother McNeal V.
Husband of Lavina Earnest Fullen McNeal 1841-1887.
They had Elizabeth Janette (or Jane), James Knox Polk, Sophronia Cordelia (Fronie), William Elijah, Margaret Brunette, James Franklin Broyles, Malinda Beldora, Sallie Lavina, Jessie Malinda, Temperance Annetta (Nettie) and Charles McNeal.
