Teresa Taylor was a young, vibrant wife, mother, daughter and sister. She was senselessly murdered by her husband and her body dumped near a bird sanctuary in the mountains of Pennsylvania. Her husband, Dr. Kenneth Taylor, a dentist, was convicted of her murder and is currently serving his sentence of 30 years.

In the time after her death, Teresa's sister and her husband petitioned the NJ Courts for custody of her son. Dr. Taylor's parents also petitioned for custody. While on what was supposed to be a routine visit to Indiana, Jean and Zachary Taylor illegally adopted the child. After many attempts to regain custody, Mr. Peter Maas wrote an article for the New York Times, "Legacy of a Mother's Murder" (later to become a book, by Peter Mass - "In a Child's Name" and a subsequent made-for-tv movie).

Eventually, the child was returned to Teresa's sister and husband, who did, in fact, legally adopt him.

Teresa's story touched the hearts of many people who never met or knew her - only OF her. Her legacy does live on through her family and friends - those who did know her, still love and miss her. Life does, in fact, go on...but never, ever forget this beautiful woman who was taken from them much too soon. Keep them forever in your prayers.
