Wednesday, March 24, 1993

Desda M. Schmidt, 78, Marys Home, died Monday at St. Marys Health Center. She was born March 22, 1914, in Miller County, a daughter of Albert Lee and Minnie Sullens Rush. She was married Jan. 12, 1937, in Marys Home to Emil H. Schmidt, who survives at the home.

She was employed with the public schools in Flint, Mich., for 15 years. She was a member of Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church, Marys Home, and the Ladies Sodality.

Other survivors include: four brothers, Archie Rush, Oliver Rush and Roscoe Rush, all of Eugene, and Carl Rush, Henley; and two sisters, Sylvia West, Bonne Terre, and Dorsie Schulte, Eugene.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church. The Rev William Korte will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Thursday at Phillips Funeral Home, Marys Home Chapel, with prayer services at 3 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
