GLENN W. BEEGHLY, 83, of Bruceton Mills (Salem Community), WV, died Wednesday, September 3, 2008, at Monongalia General Hospital, Morgantown, WV. He was born November 7, 1924.
Glenn was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, one of the original founding members of the Bruceton Community Ambulance Service, and a longtime member of the Bruceton-Brandonville Volunteer Fire Department.
He is survived by his wife, Opal Herring Beeghly; a daughter, Patricia Nelson, of Richmond, VA; a son and his spouse, William and Valerie Beeghly of Bruceton Mills; five grandchildren: Lauren Beeghly and Ethan Beeghly and his spouse, Kristi, of Bruceton, Jason Nelson and his spouse, Michelle, of Columbus, OH, Jennifer Nelson of Harrisonburg, VA, and Johanna Beeghly of Hattiesburg, MS; a great-grandchild, Chase Beeghly, of Bruceton; a half-sister, Ida Fay Hileman, of Bruceton Mills; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Carl R. Spear Funeral Home, Bruceton-Brandonville, WV, Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and Saturday, September 6, 2008, from 10 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m., in the funeral home, with Pastor Donnie Savage officiating. Burial will be in the Shady Grove Cemetery, Bruceton Mills.
The WV Honor Guard and Preston County VFW members will provide military graveside services.
